Christmas Shopping Online: Retailers Offering Free Shipping
If you want to shop online for Christmas this year, you need to be cautious with shipping costs. A high shipping rate can easily ruin an otherwise good deal.
Below, I am going to outline a few retailers that have free shipping available now. Many of these free shipping offers are special, so they are subject to end at anytime.
Free shipping is the best way to save money when Christmas shopping online, but you can also look for discounted or flat fee shipping rates. Flat fee shipping is when you pay a set amount no matter how much merchandise you purchase.
Retailers Currently Offering Free Shipping
Amazon.com – Amazon has free shipping on some of their items. This is free standard shipping. Not all items qualify, but those that do are clearly outlined. To receive this discount, you must spend at least $25.
JcPenny.com – JcPenny has free shipping on orders that are $69 or more. This offer does have a few restrictions. For example, outlet items do not qualify. This free shipping offer expires on November 10, 2008 and you must enter the code 41FS69.
BabyCenter.com – Baby Center has free shipping on orders that are $49 or more. Their website says the offer is for a limited time only, but not end date is listed. You must enter FREESHIP49 at the checkout.
BarnesandNoble.com – Barnes and Noble has a Fast and Free Shipping offer. I believe this is an ongoing offer. It says on eligible items, but I do believe that most qualify. You must spend at least $25 to get free shipping.
Nike.com – The Nike Store is currently offering free shipping on what appears to be all orders. This offer is limited to one per person. Their free shipping expires on December 20, 2008. You must enter GIVENIKE at the checkout.
Walmart.com – Wal-Mart has free site-to-store shipping. This means you order your items online and pick them up at a local store. This is good for those, like me, who have a small Wal-Mart with a limited product selection. There are also many items on Wal-Mart’s website that have .97 cent shipping.
There are many other retailers online that have free shipping, but with a restricted dollar amount. These websites, which include Sears.com, KBToys.com, and so forth, I did not list because you are expected to spend at least $75 and more. If you are shopping on a budget, you are unlikely to spend the minimum amount.
