Tips for Buying Coupons (Newspaper Inserts)

Published by jenfoote under Coupons Edit This

If you are looking to save money on groceries, you may buy a weekend newspaper to get the moneysaving coupon inserts. If you want to get the best value for your money:

1 – Examine Friday and Saturday Newspapers

Some Friday and Saturday newspapers have coupon inserts inside. What is nice about these papers is that they tend to cost $1 or more less than the Sunday paper. Often, the coupons are the same.

2 – Make Sure the Coupons are Inside

Before buying a newspaper just for the coupons, I recommended checking that the coupons are inside first. This will only take a few seconds. As for why I recommend this, I personally had a problem with a local paper. They would advertise that so many dollars worth of coupons were inside, but I would find no coupons when I returned home. So, I now check every time.

3 – Scan the Coupons Quickly

In addition to making sure the coupons are there, I also flip through the coupon insert real quick. I do this because if I see a lot of good coupons, I may opt to buy another newspaper. Many coupons have extended expiration dates, meaning you could fit multiple shopping trips in before they expire. If you do take this approach, just move over to the side so that you do not block others from the newspaper section.

4 – Examine Store Sales Fliers

I always examine the store sales fliers for grocery stores, but I have recently started doing so with the department stores, convenience stores, and drug stores. Many have store coupons listed. Occasionally, these store coupons can be used with manufacturer coupons, saving you even more money.

Free Pet Treat Sample

Published by jenfoote under Free samples Edit This

In my search for moneysaving pet food coupons online, I came across a free sample offer for pet treats.

Free Sample of Greenies Pet Treat

I know someone who received this free sample a while ago and their dog liked the treat. If I recall correctly, they now buy it, so you may want to request a free sample for your cat or dog.

If you are a pet owner, I recommended visiting the Greenies website anyways, as they have a lot of neat treats for cats and dogs. In addition to dental bones, they sell treats that have built in pill pockets! Getting your pet to take medicine doesn’t get much easier.

As a side note, I cannot guarantee that you will receive your free sample. Although available as of September 19, 2008, this offer may expire at any time.
