Yard Sales: How They Can Help You Save Money

Published by jenfoote at 11:57 pm under Uncategorized Edit This

Although my previous posts have typically focused on how you can be frugal when grocery shopping, the fact is that we consumers buy much more than food. Whether you need new clothes for work, for summer, or clothes and toys for your children, you may still be seeing an increase in prices. For that reason, you may want to do some of your non-food shopping at yard sales.

When it comes to yard sale shopping, you should be prepared to buy used. With that said, many of the items, especially clothes and toys, appear as if they were new. Often times, you are the only one who will know that your new outfit or child’s “new,” toy was really purchased from a yard sale.

If you are interested in saving money by buying clothing, books, toys, games, and movies from a yard sale, you will want to examine your local newspapers. During the spring and summer months, there is often a special classified section for yard sales. Look for those where a summary of what is sold is provided.
