A Moneysaving Shopping Tip: Avoid Items at the Checkout
When waiting in line at a grocery store or department store, you are likely faced with racks full of merchandise. These racks often include candy and a wide range of other products that may include other snacks, travel size products, and so forth. These items are placed there for a reason. Many shoppers are known as impulse buyers. In fact, did you know that many retailers refer to these racks as “impulse racks?”
As for why you should avoid items at the checkout, doing so can save you a considerable amount of money. Often times, high priced items are placed towards the checkout. Retailers are hoping that you want or either forgot something and opt to grab an item from that “impulse rack.” For example, did you need hand sanitizer, but forgot to get it in the aisle? Instead of opting for that attractive travel size package (unless you need a small size), go back to the shelf and buy the full size product, as it is often much cheaper.
