Where Is Your Grocery Store’s Sale Section?

Published by jenfoote at 10:33 pm under Retail Stores Edit This

Are you looking to save money on groceries? If you are, do you examine the sale section of your local grocery store? If you have some grocery stores like mine, doing so can be difficult.

The closest grocery store that I frequent typically has most of their sale products right in the front of the store. These are usually the items that appear in the weekly sales flier. In all honesty, there is no way for you to miss them.

I was surprised when I visited that same grocery store chain, but in another town. Store layouts are different, but I didn’t see a sale section. No bins full of clearance merchandise, nothing. So, I went on my way. Of course, I forgot my grocery shopping list (which I advised never leaving home without). And, I didn’t need produce, so I skipped that section.

When I got home, I found my list and of course I forgot a lot of items that were on it. These were items that I found in the store sales flier. I mentioned to my partner that I didn’t see the common sales section. He calmly replied that it is hidden on the side of the produce section. Lol, yep the section that I decided to skip. Long story short, I had to visit our local convenience store in town and pay double the price to get two items that I absolutely needed to have.

Although we all make mistakes, if you are really looking to save money on groceries (and shopping in an unfamiliar store) I advise:

* Double checking to make sure you have your grocery list before you leave home.

* Grab a copy of a store sales flier, as most have them displayed in their entrances.

* Walking through each aisle of the grocery store, especially a new grocery store.

* And specifically searching for that store sale section, as almost all grocery stores do have them.
