Browsing: A Great Way to Prevent You From Paying Too Much

Published by jenfoote at 10:41 pm under Retail Stores Edit This

Are you looking for information on how to save money on groceries? If so, the following tip may be able to provide you with assistance.

On a personal note, I spent three years working as a retail manager for Dollar General. This is before I decided to become a stay-at-home mom. If you didn’t already know, Dollar General is a often what is considered a discount retail store. Family Dollar is similar in nature. Both Dollar General and Family Dollar carry a wide range of products, including food. If you haven’t stepped foot inside one of these stores, you will want to do so.

Returning back to my experience as a retail store manager for Dollar General, I saw firsthand just how cheap some products, especially food, are sold for. As an example, three years ago a can of name brand tuna fish sold for 50 cents. The price has since increased to around 75 cents a can, but that is still much cheaper than what some grocery stores charge.

Walking around your local discount stores, like Dollar General or Family Dollar, can give you a good idea of how much money you should be spending. Although you do not have to do your shopping with these two stores, it can prevent you from overpaying. Since I know that I can get a can of tuna fish for around 75 cents or less, I never pay more than that.
